Description: This is a detailed Interstate Commerce Commission report from July 1956 concerning a petition by the Louisville & Nashville (L&N) Railroad to construct a branch in Shelby County Alabama to service several customers to which the Southern Railway voiced opposition. This is an original report from 1956, printed on legal paper and is in excellent condition. There is some rust on the staple and it has been folded in half (presumably when mailed) and features detailed explanations on 7 double-sided sheets. Details including customers and their tragfic levels, descriptions of the current and proposed lines, revenues, cost of construction, testimonies from the customers and Southern Rwy. It was subsequently denied. A very interesting historical read if you're an L&N fan or fan of Alabama railroading. I will find it in half to ship cheapest way in a large envelope unless we make other arrangements. Thanks for looking and be sure to check out our other items for sale.
