Ephraim Campbell was a blacksmith and owned a wagon shop near Coleraine, Derry County, Northern Ireland. (Son George Colin's death certificate says his full name was William E. Campbell.) Ephraim is on Griffith's Valuation of Ireland in Ballylagan, Macosquin Parish, Derry. The Orr family was in Aghadowey Parish through which ran the Macosquin River, so the two parishes were near each other. Ephraim married Isabelle Orr, daughter of Paul and Isabelle (Boyd) Orr, in approximately 1840. He and Isabelle Orr Campbell had 10 children. The family decided to emigrate to the U.S. in approximately 1861, and Ephraim died at sea. Ephraim's name is on the marker in the family plot at Salem Cemetery, Lawrence County, MO, as a memorial. A marker he erected, at the Aghadowey Presbyterian Church, to three of his children who died in Ireland says "Erected by Ephraim Campbell of Ballyagan."
