Description: Collected Stories of William Faulkner. Published by Random House, New York, 1950. Very good plus book in very good dust jacket. First thus collection of stories, second state publishing without "The" in the title block of spine. Clay cloth colored boards; gilt lettering inside blue blocks on spine. Boards are clean but lightly sunned on outermost edges. Edges at head and tail of board spine are crimped. Browning to inner hinges from binder's adhesive. Previous owner's inscription on FFEP. Internally clean and with snug text block. Dust jacket is sunned overall, more so on spine and folds. Front, back and spine are soiled overall, some shelf wear soil but also smudges and several small roundish stains, mostly on the spine. Edges at head and tail of jacket spine are chipped and with a couple of closed vertical tears of less than 1/8" - 1/4". All corners are rubbed and with minimal loss of less than 1/4". Fore-edge folds are creased and scuffed and with one tiny rub-through on the back fold near the tail. Inside flaps are clean but with a bit of sunning on the upper- and lower-most edges. Inside front flap has a 2 3/8" by 1 1/2" price clip. Please use close-up options for best inspection and in support of condition descriptions. Additional photos available at your request.
