Description: This is a rare single page advertising handbill (flyer) promoting ticket sales for the Post-Broadway engagement of the GEORGE BERNARD SHAW classic "PYGMALION" at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada beginning May 5th, 1947. (The revival opened December 26th, 1945 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre in New York City and ran for 179 performances before going on the road.) ..... DETAILS: Advertising handbills (heralds) were distributed or inserted into the playbills of other productions to help generate ticket sales for upcoming shows and events. This single page, two-sided flyer measures 6" X 9 3/8" inches and includes production credits, a photograph of GERTRUDE LAWRENCE, partial cast list, performance dates and a ticket order form on the front and promotional text on the backside ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a fold across the middle and marks at the center from a paper clip indentation, this rare flyer is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
