Description: SKU Code: ST/NAM/SILMWC's Vietnam Watches are virtually identical in appearance to the watches used by American troops in the Vietnam war during the 1960s and 1970s this particular model was a slightly later version of those watches which were predominantly made in Olive drab during the 1960s, the final image shows one of the original silver case watches on which this one is based which were always metal and made in much smaller numbers than the plastic olive variant.As mentioned above the actual US Military Issue olive models in the 1960s and early 1970s were made of plastic because they were deemed disposable, of course, the problem with making making their Vietnam watches in plastic is they would be in effect be very basic just like the originals with all the same durability issues hence they decided many years ago to completely rethink the watch and whilst keeping the original appearance, weight, size and feel they switched to all-metal construction across the whole range which means that although the watches look very close to the originals (see the last but one image which shows an original watch and spec sheet) these are vastly superior in both durability and overall quality.
