Description: Atlas Craftsman Unique Chip Tray This original design fits between the ways on the Atlas / Craftsman 10" and 12" metal lathes to catch turning chips that normally fall between the ways and down under the bed. This little tray catches that debris and allows for easy empty after regular use. The tray is designed to fit UNDER the carriage so that no travel is lost while still allowing good use. The tray sits anywhere along the bed and is able to be slid around depending on where the cutting is happening. It can also be easily moved to the tailstock side of the lathe and out of the way for storage. The material is a strong 3D printed plastic that will hold up for quite a while during normal use. (note: very hot chips may melt the plastic You can add a metal plate or tape to the tray to protect the plastic or add a magnet under the tray to catch ferrous chips.) This item comes in grey/silver color. This unique part adds character and accent to these old machines and serves a useful purpose at the same time. This part was designed by me after several iterations and tests to ensure good fit and performance. This is the original and likely clones will appear over time but rest assured this is the ORIGINAL quality part made and designed in the USA!!! note: This does NOT fit the smaller 6" lathes, see my OTHER items for one that fits the smaller machines.
