Description: Extremely rare specimen, would be a fine addition for any advanced trilobite collection. This is Upplandiops sp. (not described species ), the odd Pterygometopidae having 10 throatic segments (instead 11 segments which is common number for all Phacopids).This new find could submited as the earliest known representative of the genus. The only known species of Upplandiops was the type species Upplandiops calvus Jaanusson et Ramsköld, 1993 from uppermost Middle Ordovician, Uhaku stage deposits. This new finding discovered at Aseri stage (Asaphus kowalewskii trilobite zone) deposits, Middle Ordovician of Gostilitsy quarry, St Petersburg, Russia.The specimen has no reconstruction, prepared carefuly with fine artication of the each mortholocal detail. The trilobite is 1.6cm long, small size but absolutely the normal adult size for that genus representatives.Shipping is $15 worldwide.
